Privacy Notice – Digital Health (DH) platform

Version 2026-10-27.1

1. Who is responsible for your information

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) (“MUHAS”) organises the Digital Health (DH) events and decides why and how the personal information on this platform is used.

2. What information we collect

3. Why we use it, and your choices

Each purpose below has its own box on the registration form. Required ones are needed to register; optional ones never affect your registration and you can withdraw them at any time.

4. Who receives your information

5. Sending information outside Tanzania

Some providers operate outside Tanzania: Google (email delivery). Also, your browser downloads fonts and scripts from Google Fonts, jsDelivr and Cloudflare (cdnjs), so those servers see your IP address when you open our pages. We send providers only what the service needs, and we ask for your consent to the email transfer on the registration form.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above and to meet legal, audit and accounting requirements, then we delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and give you a copy. You may withdraw any optional consent at any time using the link in our emails or the request page; withdrawing does not affect what was done before. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie (ci_session) and a security cookie (CSRF). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

9. Children

These events are for adults. If you register someone under 18, you must have the consent of their parent or guardian and tell us.

10. Changes to this notice

When we change this notice or the wording of a consent, the version number above changes and you are asked again where the change matters.
